To make it as realistic as possible, the training session was held at the Fire Service College in the Moreton-In-Marsh – and the S.A.R.A.I.D team really put Makita’s tools to the test.
Over the course of the day, I was able to watch the S.A.R.A.I.D team working across different scenarios. The team used the tools to access a replica of a collapsed building, cutting their way through wooden and concrete barriers, as well as obstacles like fridges and rubble to navigate through a tight tunnel.
Seeing the team at work helped me to gain a better understanding of what the S.A.R.A.I.D team does and why Makita tools are such an asset to them. This assisted with the development of a written case study for the trade press and Makita’s website, which aims to showcase this unique use of Makita tools. I also obtained a selection of images throughout the day for use on Makita’s social media channels.
